THE HOUSE DESIGN: The 4,800 SF design includes three bedroom suites clustered around a large timbered greatroom which opens to a large southern patio and the views. The terraced patio features outdoor dining, a gas BBQ, a large fire pit and a six-person hot tub. Support spaces include lounge areas, lofts, a large pantry, laundry, and storage. The garage facility includes parking and storage for a variety of vehicles, mechanical spaces and a large sports equipment room. The main focus of the design is the creation of the ultimate alpine cabin and sports retreat. The design is open and flexible to maximize the owner's desires. It can evolve into a rustic lodge, an exclusive retreat or a luxurious residence. Specified materials include extensive stone masonry, heavy timber beamery, rustic woods, high-performance glazing, metal roofs and element-proof exteriors. The project is under construction, 75% complete and will be finished the fall of 2008. It represents many years of applications, public review processing, design, engineering, and infrastructure construction. |
